Rafting or River running in India is possible on numerous rivers mostly flowing down the foothills of the Himalayas. There are various grades of rafting possible in a country with so many fast flowing Himalayan Rivers. The landscapes, flora, fauna and cultures which one discovers from the river gives one a truly different perspective of exploration than those encountered from the road. From the barren moonscapes of Zanskar to the verdant evergreen forests of Arunachal very few regions in the world can match this diversity in river running options.

Rafting - Ganges (October - November & March - mid- May)

River Ganga is the most Holy river of Hindus. The Whitewater River rafting capital of India is the stretch of the Ganges from Kaudiyala to Rishikesh where the river has 12 rapids over 36 kms, most of which are easily negotiable even by non-swimmers. It offers a lot of thrills and adventures to the rafters. Down from the Deoprayag, the Ganga changes into a pool drop river. Deoprayag to Rishikesh is an exhilarating river rafting trip. This area gives you the thrills of fast water, deep gorges and silver sands from Deoprayag to Rishikesh in lower Himalayas. Don't miss out on the ride of a lifetime. Day 01: Arrive Delhi.
Transfer from the Airport to the Hotel.
Accommodation: Delhi
Day 02:
Early morning after the Breakfast Drive to Rishikesh by car. Check in to the Hotel. Day at Leisure.
Accommodation: Rishikesh (Breakfast)
Day 03:
Early morning after breakfast drive to Deoprayag. Day is at leisure for scenic beauty.
Accommodation: Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 04 to Day 06
After the breakfast enjoy your first taste of white water rafting in India from Deoprayag to Rishikesh for 03 days with an overnight camp at night on the banks of the river.
Accommodation: Camps on the Ganges river banks (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 07:
After breakfast, drive back from Rishikesh to Delhi. Upon arrival transfer to the Hotel. Evening at leisure for independent activities.
Accommodation: Delhi (Breakfast)
Day 08:
Depart Delhi. Transfer to airport for flight back home.
Rafting-Spiti
The wonderful adventure from Manali to Simla includes a 03 day run on the scenic Spiti river, surrounded by mountains and vehicular sight seeing trips and day hikes to historic monasteries and old villages. In most parts the river have Grade 3 rapids.
A 16 days trip: Delhi-Manali-Lahaul-Spiti-Kinnaur-Simla-Delhi. Customized trips also available.
Rafting Siang / Brahmaputra
Rafting down the mighty Brahamaputra with its icy cold waters from just below its source of snow capped mountains in Arunachal Pradesh where it is called the Siang gushing down to the plains of Assam is quite a task. Rafting over its massive waves would be the greatest feat of thrill, excitement and human endurance. With their pure blue and cascading white water rapids, Brahamaputra makes a cascading view and keeps on alluring with their attraction time and again. This river has got IV - V and VI grade rapids, which can be risky.
Rafting down the Brahamaputra is a 12 days expedition combining the fascinating tribal cultures of Arunachal and the wildlife park of Kaziranga in Assam.
Please Note: In order to raft down the Brahamaputra , one has to take official permission from the Government of India.
Rafting - Indus / Ladakh
With its stunning landscape and superb monasteries the Indus flows through fascinating Ladakh. It is a simple grade 3 rafting trip from Karu to Shey and from Phey to Nimmu. However from then on it is suited only for serious rafters as Grade V and VI rapids follow.
Rafting - Zanskar / Ladakh
In terms of altitude grade and landscape it must be one the most fascinating river running experiences of the world. It has been termed India's Colorado and is truly for the more experienced rafters. It involves the Grade 4 Tsarap Chu and The Zanskar rivers. One can join the confluence with the Indus at Nimmu and continue to Khaltse for Grade V.
Rafting- Teesta - Sikkim
Another fast flowing grade 3 stretch, which can be combined with, visits to the monasteries of Pemayangtse and visit the tea gardens of the region.
